Dan James – Director (MAAT) 

Dan overseas the payroll, VAT returns, bookkeeping and account preparation functions within the business. 

Having studied AAT whilst on an apprenticeship at a practice in Stoke-on-Trent, he left after 6 years in 2010 to take up a role at a local financial advisers as their in house accountant, becoming financial controller/office manager as his time there progressed. 

Dan started DTJ Bookkeeping back in 2018 on a part time basis, to provide tax returns and accounts to small self employed businesses. This soon expanded to include VAT, payroll and servicing limited companies. 

Dans varied experience in both practice and industry helps him to understand clients internal needs and external requirements. 

With an interest in technology, Dan is the driving force behind our digital accounting options, with his experience on multiple platforms and software crucial to being able to service our clients needs. 

Away from the office, you will find Dan playing cricket, managing a Sunday morning football team and enjoying time with his 2 year old son!
